Hello, my name is Jon Herrera and I’ve been a Professional Portrait Photographer since 1996. I’ve always had a passion for photography and when the opportunity presented itself to turn that passion into a profession, I jumped at it.

Over the years I have read a lot of books, watched a lot of videos, studied a lot of classic portraits and shot somewhere in the neighborhood of 120,000 portraits.  Each portrait has been similar to the last, but each has also been different.  Taking portraits is like anything else, practice helps.  There’s more to taking portraits than just technical skills.  I’m in the business of capturing more than just expressions, I also look for emotions and inner beauty.

I have spent the better part of my career as a Portrait Photographer doing my best to make people look good.  It’s a two way street.  The person being photographed has to do a bit of work as well.  I can give instructions,  but the Subject has to be willing to follow them.  I can get people to smile, if they are willing to smile.

Our mission is helping organizations raise funds and our business is selling portraits.  The more we sell, the more funds the organization makes.  I’ll do my best to take portraits people will want to buy.
